INTRODUCTION:
The Holy Cave of the MAA VAISHNO is situated at an altitude of 5200 ft. The Yatris have to undertake a trek of nearly 12 km from the base camp at Katra. At the culmination of their pilgrimage, the yatries are blessed with the Darshans of the Mother Goddess inside the Sanctum Sanctorum- the Holy Cave. These Darshans are in the shape of three natural rock formations called the Pindies. There are no statues or idols inside the Cave.

PLAN YATRA:
In order to visit the Holy Shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi Ji, one has to reach Katra, a small town situated around 50 kms. from Jammu, the winter capital of the state of Jammu & Kashmir. Katra serves as the base camp for the yatra. Katra is well connected to Jammu and Jammu, in turn, is well connected to the rest of the country by Air, Rail, and Road.

  • Room Booking

For the benefit of the pilgrims, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board provides clean, well maintained and very economical accommodation. This accommodation is available at Jammu (at Vaishnavi Dham and Saraswati Dham near Railway Station), at Katra (at Niharika Yatri Niwas and Shakti Bhawan situated at the Bus stand) Katra. Another 700 bedded accommodation, Trikuta Bhawan, Katra is available for the Yatries. This building is situated near the 2nd Yatra counter (YRC II), Katra. Accommodation for the Yatries is also available at Adkuwari, Sajichatt and at main Bhawan.


  • Helicopter
Pawan Hans and Global Vectra helicopter services from Katra on the foothills and the flight will drop you at Sanjhichatt. This visit to the sacred Shrine, enveloped by the clouds is the beginning of a breathtaking heli-hop. You can register by click on New Devotee sign up create user name and password, close all links and open the website page again. Logon with the user name and password, click on Helicopter Services,  select date, route, no. of passenger, time etc.,  enter other passenger detail. At the end click on payment gateway, link open the bank site you can enter credit card number, CVV number (at back side of credit card) and expiry date. If the bank will accept your credit card and the message appear for Non secure site you can click on yes. Your booking is completed. You can obtain the printout of said page.

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, in its efforts to increase facilities for devotees visiting the Holy Shrine has started a process of Online Yatra Registraton. Yatries can now obtain all bookings including Yatra Registration slip, Room Bookings and poojan bookings online.
